We have continued our patronage of the Federation of European Golf Greenkeepers' Associations' (FEGGA) annual conference, adding depth to the speaker programme by inviting a leading grounds manager to address delegates.

Following a series of presentations focused on golf, Chris Hague, Grounds Manager as PARKEN Stadium in Denmark, shared his experiences of turf management in a mulit - use stadia with FEGGA members from across Europe and representatives from other patron companies who had gathered in Vienna for the two-day event.

He explained how football fixtures for home side F.C. Copenhagen, the Danish national team and international sides are interspersed by music concerts, speedway, boxing matches and corporate events.  This demanding schedule and other factors, including regular use of the arena's retractable roof and hard surfaces to temporarily cover the playing surface, create a challenging environment for pitch management.

A Campey customer for more that a decade, Chris and his team rely on their experience and the very best in turfcare machinery to keep the surface in great condition.  The Macclesfield-based company has supplied numerous machines including an outfield spiker, tractor, twinplay and rotary mowers.  It also supplies parts and comprehensive after-sales support and specialist equipment supplied by them, such as the Koro TopMaker and Dakota topdressers, have also been hired by the venue from Danish contractors.
