New Year, New Strategey for Campey Turf Care Systems
Campey Turf Care Systems have hit the ground running in the New Year, with some exciting developments. They will bring even more growth for the rapidly expanding operation, which now distributes high-performance, cost-effective turf care equipment throughout the UK and into Europe.
In order to concentrate on developing their strong equipment portfolio, Campeys have sold their sister contracting operation to Souters Sports Ltd, who will be running the operation from their North West depot near Knutsford in Cheshire. “Our contracting operation has served us well in the past, and has been the proving ground for many machines that we currently distribute,” says Managing Director Richard Campey. “But with our expansion plans, it is sensible to sell it on and specialise on developing our successful equipment distribution business.”
As part of the expansion, Campeys have promoted Simon Gumbrill to Sales Manager. This is a key position, since sales expansion has previously been co-ordinated solely by Richard himself. Simon, who is married with three children, lives close to the company’s headquarters at Marton, near Macclesfield. His new role will see him developing national accounts business for Campeys.
“Simon’s advancement recognises the tremendous contribution he has made to our business,” says Richard. “In particular, he is largely responsible for the significant development of our New Holland Groundcare tractor sales. Simon’s enthusiasm will bring further growth in this, and other areas.”
In addition, Campeys are currently recruiting more sales personnel to cover new territories that have been identified.
The comprehensive Campey machinery portfolio includes the Koro range of high work-rate turf rejuvenation, drainage and maintenance equipment, the Dakota Turf Tender line-up of carrier/spreaders, Raycam Speedresser bulk drop-spreaders, the Raycam Hi-Lift for large-scale top-dressing operations, the Raycam Core Harvester, and Raycam True Level vibrating greens rollers. A selection from the line-up will be displayed on the Campeys stand at BTME, running from 18-20 January in Harrogate, with even more ideas and machines to follow during 2005.
