Heavy-Duty Trailers will boost work rates
Today’s greenkeeper frequently has to transport large loads of materials such as drainage spoil,
top-dressing, aggregates, turf, and bagged goods. To carry out these tasks Campey Turf Care Systems are unveiling the Dakota 550 and 525 Turf Trailers at the IoG Saltex exhibition, taking place at Windsor Racecourse from 6-8 September,
Designed exclusively for use in golf course maintenance, these exciting machines have the fastest work rates providing maximum efficiency. They are built for robustness with an A-frame construction but minimise the pressure exerted on grassed surfaces by the use of full width floatation tyres. Although a heavy-duty workhorse, Dakota Turf Trailers cover undulating ground with ease and without marking due to 4-wheel walking beam axles.

The tipping operation is controlled by the driver in the tractor and rises to an angle of 65°. The tailgate opens automatically for efficient unloading of the contained material. To further enhance efficiency, the sides can be removed completely to create a flatbed, enabling wide and bulky loads to be accommodated.
The model 550 Turf Trailer can be attached to a tractor as low as 40hp; it has an impressive capacity of 5000kg (4.5 tons) and can discharge from a height of 25in (64cm). It has Super Trac floatation tyres and measures 4.37m long by 2.44m wide and is 0.96m high (14.3 x 8.0 x 3.2ft). When the hopper is full with a level load, its capacity is an impressive 3.06 cu m (4.0 cu yd).
Also being launched is the smaller 525 Dakota Turf Trailer with a maximum capacity of 2500kg (2 ¼ tons) or 1.53 cu m (2.0 cu yd). Requiring a tractor of only 27hp to power it, and fitted with Ultra Trac floatation turf tyres, the 525 measures 3.55m long by 2.0m wide and 0.82m high (11.6 x 6.5 x 2.7ft).
