Campey Turf Care's innovation sets the standard at Saltex

STAND V20

Few Saltex exhibitors will be able to rival the breadth of the machinery line-up displayed by Campey Turf Care Systems. The pro-active company’s range gives turf professionals high work rate solutions for essential grounds care tasks and enables them to achieve remarkable playing surface quality.

Taking pride of place on Campeys stand will be the full line up of TurfWorks; this is a cassette system for fine turf maintenance, which fits all main line ride-on golf green mowers. The system allows greenkeepers to verticut, groom, scarify, vibro roll and brush, slit aerate, sarel roll, rotary brush, static brush and so much more. 100% British designed, manufactured and precision engineered, it is already taking the golf club industry by storm worldwide. One such user is Craig Gilholm, Links Manager at Royal Liverpool GC at Hoylake, which recently staged The British Open Golf Championship. Commenting on the TurfWorks system Craig said, " I always strive with my team for the best playing surfaces available at Royal Liverpool, but in the year of the Open this is of paramount importance. The TurfWorks system is something that I can rely on and has offered me excellent value for money.”

Similar ingenious and innovative equipment from from Campey Turf Care includes the Koro line-up which is renowned for its ability to achieve fast sports ground rejuvenation without reliance on chemicals. A recent introduction is the high-tipping Verticutter Collector option for the popular 1.2m Field TopMaker, which removes thatch and compacted material in a single pass. The Collector stores debris in an integral hopper for later disposal, and makes renovation on fine turf and golf greens a genuine one-man operation. A new addition to the Koro fleet will also be unveiled at Saltex.

Designed to handle wet or dry materials via a dual spinner discharge system, the versatile Dakota Turf Tenders can spread top-dressing, sand, rubber crumb, grass seed and fertiliser. A new interactive calibration program allows operators to set the application rate precisely the first time.

With the operator in mind, the new 2006 Turf Tenders have been redesigned with fewer parts and are easier to use, adjust and maintain. Amongst the improvements to the 410, 412 and 414 models is an electric control box with digital readouts for total accuracy. The 440 and 420 units have a redesigned power chute that is electrically operated for precise placement.

Making their Saltex debut will be Campey Turf Care’s new range of Vredo overseeders, designed for optimum performance. V-shaped cutter discs make sharp slits in the turf creating minimal disturbance. Slit depth is easily adjusted and the seed rate is variable. A rear roller seals the slits for maximum germination. Compact Series models are offered in widths from 1-2.2m and are lightweight machines designed for use with compact tractors.

For fast large-scale transportation and materials handling operations, Campey Turf Care offers the Raycam
Hi-Lift Trailer. The new larger capacity tractor-powered machine can carry more than 4 tonnes of material and is operated by the tractor’s auxiliary hydraulic services. The articulated rear axle is raised quickly to discharge material precisely where needed from a maximum height of 1.4m, allowing work such as supplying top dressing machines or filling drainage channels and bunkers to be carried out very efficiently.

Also on show at Saltex will be the comprehensive range of Raycam lightweight rubber dragmats, with sizes and configurations to meet all requirements. Designed for one pass operation without bruising or damaging fine turf, they can be hand-pulled, mounted on a tractor three-point linkage, or attached to turf utility vehicles. Dragmats can be used to work top-dressing into turf quickly and evenly, and for the dispersal of grass clippings.

The Campey stand V20 is a must-see for visitors to Saltex, which runs from 5-7 September at Windsor Racecourse.
