Koro Field TopMaker Scarifying Reel

Completely renovating 18 golf greens in one day may sound like a tall order, but that is what can be achieved with the Koro Field TopMaker unit, when fitted with a special scarifying reel. In fact the scarifying reel is ideal for use on all sports turf areas as well as large areas like sod farms and recreational parks.

Part of the Koro range of cost-effective equipment from Campey Turf Care Systems the Field TopMaker is available in 1.2 and 2m wide versions. There is also a new 2.5m wide model and new modular versions across the range, including a 1.5m modular model that will be available later in 2007.

The Koro Field TopMaker works by removing the top layer of the pitch surface so that new soil ameliorants can be worked into a clean surface before reseeding. The process can produce a new surface in six to eight weeks.

When fitted with a scarifying reel, the Field TopMaker can be used for economical renovation where budgets don’t run to taking the surface off. The scarifying reel is superior to other deep scarifiers on the market as it also collects the debris so there is no need to collect with a second machine.

Fitted with the scarifying reel, the Field TopMaker can treat fine turf at spacings of 20, 34 or 40mm, using 1.5 or 3mm carbide tipped blades. Its integral conveyor simultaneously removes material directly into a trailer alongside for operational efficiency.

Depth of operation is easily adjusted via screw jacks on each roller, from 1-50mm. A mid-mounted anti-scalp roller allows the machine to float over undulations.

The new modular series of Field TopMakers are available with a range of quick fit attachments, including a conveyor belt unit useful for large areas where high capacity collection is required. This can be fitted in just 30 minutes due to the modular Field TopMaker’s quick-change system. A collector box is also available in high and low dump versions, which collects material using a unique brush system.

The Field TopMaker comes from a broad line-up of Koro attachments developed to maximise the playing potential of sports turf. Each machine helps to rejuvenate tired turf mechanically, with little or no man-made chemicals.
