Campeys pump up the action

Scotsturf Preview 2007

Campey Turf Care Systems will introduce yet another boon for busy grounds care professionals at Scotsturf 2007, with the ingenious TrunkPump for the speedy removal of water.

The TrunkPump fits to a tractor in less than a minute without tools, thanks to a patented attaching system, and it is driven by the vehicle’s PTO. The pump primes within seconds for fast start-up, and it can move up to 280 gallons per minute. Hoses remain attached during transportation, and special shallow-water strainers are available for optimum pumping performance.

Given the recent extremes of weather conditions, grounds maintenance professionals face water removal problems more frequently and with the TrunkPump it becomes an efficient one-man operation.

Also highlighted will be the innovative modular version of the Field Top Maker (FTM) 1200 model, from a new range of FTM Mark II machines. The 1.2m (47in) unit is ideal for fast turf rejuvenation on golf courses and sports pitches. With modular construction, clients can adapt the machine to their requirements, being able to specify a conveyor belt, a collector box or a deflector plate, all interchangeable within 30 minutes. Changing the rotors has also been simplified thanks to a horizontal slide system on the three-point linkage, and a new frame design gives consistent results on any terrain.

Another Koro machine, the Recycling Dresser, provides aeration, decompaction and top-dressing in one operation. Soil removed is redistributed on to the playing surface as a top dressing.

Dakota TurfTender

Campeys also distribute the high work-rate Dakota Turf Tender top-dresser range that can transport materials, top-dress, spread fertiliser and sow seed. Width of application is easily adjusted and the rear discharge spinner mechanism distributes material evenly, wet or dry. A new addition is the Dakota D606 Soil Mover/Box Scraper that achieves the perfect level on tees and can incorporate laser controls.

The advantages of the Vredo compact overseeder line-up will be promoted. They provide great manoeuvrability and low ground pressure, minimising the risk of compaction. Models are available with operating widths of 1m, 1.4m,1.8m and 2.2m. Each can be mounted on the 3-point linkage of a compact tractor, or used as a trailed machine.

A row of discs gives a seeding width of just 75mm. The discs make sharp, V-shaped slits with minimal soil disturbance, and the seed distribution rate is easily adjusted. Finally, a roller presses down the slit to provide ideal conditions for germination.

Campey’s portfolio also includes the amazingly versatile TurfWorks International Fine Turf Greens Maintenance System comprising cassette attachments that fit popular greens mowers, enabling many different tasks to be undertaken for maximum efficiency.
