| TurfWorks Roll Out New Power Brush Attachment
For golf courses seeking the highest standards of surface finish on their greens, the new TurfWorks Rear
Roller Power Brush Kit can be fitted to all TurfWorks chassis. The will avoid unsightly deposits of clippings
and other material being left on the grass.
Launched at BTME 2007, the patented Rear Roller Power Brush Kit is the latest addition for the popular
TurfWorks product, which enables turf professionals to undertake a range of key maintenance tasks with
their existing greens mowers. This maximises operational efficiency while ensuring high – quality turf. The
ground – driven brush stops material building up on rear rollers, which would otherwise fall as deposits on
the greens. In this way an attractive and true playing surface is achieved.
Greenkeepers all over the world are now appreciating the benefits of the TurfWorks system, which can be
fitted to greens triples and lightweight fairway mowers. Other cassette attachments available include the
Thatchmaster verticutter,
a vibrating brush for integrating topdressing
with a Vibro Roller, a Sarel Roller, a
Star Spiker, a Scarifier and the Rotary Brush. In addition, an Ultra Grooma cassette can be used to remove
unsightly poa – annua seed heads before this undesirable grass species can establish, thus encouraging
healthy turf growth.
All TurfWorks attachments are designed for great durability and ruggedness. They can be fitting in seconds
and are adjusted without the use of tools.
The robust construction enables the system to incorporate an effective Vibro Roller system, achieved by
offset weights on the rotating shaft. Vibrations of optimal frequency are transmitted to the front and rear
rollers on the Vibro Roller cassettes. This generates a smoothing effect to iron out greens turf for a fast,
consistent, putting surface.
"The TurfWorks fine turf greens maintenance cassette system is proving to be a real winner, and not just
because of its great versatility," says Richard Campey, Director of TurfWorks International Ltd.
"Greenkeepers worldwide also appreciate the unrivalled quality of the product over its competitors and the
surface finish it achieves, and the new TurfWorks Rear Roller Power Brush Kit proves this once again."

TURFWORKS GETS THE "FULL MONTY"
Ryder Cup player Colin Montgomery paid tribute to the superb condition of Miklagard Golf Course when he recently took part in the Canon Pro Series together with another British favourite Laura Davis.
Miklagard Golf Course situated close by Oslo, Norway, has been host to the tournament on several occasions and is regarded as one of the finest courses in Scandinavia. Both Colin and Laura admitted their astonishment at the quality of the greens remarking that they were “extremely fast and true” and “as good if not better than any they had played on in the rest of Europe this year”.
Head Greenkeeper Ian Ross (pictured with Colin, and TurfWorks Vibro Rollers on the 18th green) was delighted with the response from both players. Ian said: “Miklagard has a reputation for excellent putting surfaces and it’s something the club are keen to retain. I was asked to produce green speeds in excess of 12 feet for the tournament, which is no easy task, this far north at this late time of year. Beginning 4 weeks prior to the tournament we utilised the TurfWorks system focussing on the Ultra Groomas and Vibro Rollers coupled with very light top-dressings to achieve our aim and it worked perfectly! I couldn’t be any happier with the equipment; it’s been a great investment”.
What is even more remarkable is that the club suffered severe winter kill coming out of last years winter necessitating in 4000m2 of re-turfing of the greens. Tore Waago, General Manager was keen to pay tribute to his staff thanking them for all their hard work and also acknowledged the pivotal role TurfWorks has played this year in maintaining Miklagards much heralded greens.
Turfworks is now in use throughout the World, to see the fine turf greens maintenance system in action, please contact ++44 (0) 12 60 22 44 67.

2006 JUNIORS OPEN |
26 August 2006 |
|
Heswall Golf Club is an attractive undulating parkland course on the Wirral Peninsula on the bank of the Dee Estuary overlooking the Welsh Hills, which hosted the R & A Junior Open just 4 days before the seniors Open at Royal Liverpool Golf Course at Hoylake.
Heswall Golf Club situated just 5 miles from Royal Liverpool Golf Course welcomed competitors from over 60 nations with ages ranging from 12 to 16 years, and to both boys and girls with varying handicap categories as high as +2. Playing at the event was Stefan Langer son of Bernard Langer, Miguel Angel Jimenez Junior and Angel Cabrera Junior.
Guy Cannings, Course Manager at Heswall was very keen to present the course for the R & A Juniors as he would for a senior’s competition, many months of extra hard work and preparation with a lot of consultation with the R & A over layout and expectations. The speed and consistency of the greens was of high importance to Guy and this lead to him purchasing a set of TurfWorks Vibro Rollers. "I purchased a set of Turfworks Vibro Rollers to assist with the greens issue, I knew the Turfworks had been used for the British Masters earlier in the year and Hoylake would be using the Turfworks Vibro Rollers with brushes for The Open. It is my belief that the Junior Open deserve to play on surfaces as good as the Seniors so the Turfworks were a necessity, the greens for the competition were excellent and the members that have played the course have asked if I can use the Turfworks regularly after The Open."
The competition for the lowest gross score was won by Patrick Reed of the USA with a final round of 74 for a 54-hole total of 217. Guy stated, "One of these Juniors could be a future Seniors Open Champion, and they are the future of Golf."

TURFWORKS HITS AMERICA |
2 March 2006 |
|
Shown for the first time in its full glory at the recent
Golf Industry Show in Atlanta, was the modular interchangeable
cassette system from TurfWorks International Ltd. One
of only a handful of British companies to exhibit at
the American show, for the second year TurfWorks has
successfully found its niche in the market place.
The TurfWorks system was first introduced to the market
place in 2005, but in a prototype version to gauge the
response from dealers and end users. With such enthusiasm
for the TurfWorks from the Superintendents, as it is
the only interchangeable cassette system in the World
today that can accept a Vibratory Roller system into
the same chassis without the need to purchase a different
system, the decision was made to go ahead and launch
the product range.
After twelve months of further developments and testing
in the United States and in the United Kingdom and Europe,
TurfWorks was back for the Golf Industry Show (GIS)
and again the response was overwhelming. Director Simon
Gumbrill commenting after the show said, “the
Atlanta show was excellent for us with the superb standard
of Superintendents and dealers who visited our booth.
We were able to confirm sales and appoint some new dealers
for the USA and for other parts of the world”.
“The TurfWorks product shines with outstanding
build quality and will out perform any other product
on fine turf, it is the most versatile turf maintenance
system available”.
With the ability to change the height of the units
on the greens by the simple “turn and click”
patent pending wrenchless height adjuster, and the fact
that it is made from stainless steel and high quality
precision engineering, makes the TurfWorks cassette
system stand in a class of its own.
Cassettes that are available include the Thatchmaster,
Ultra Grooma, Scarifier, Sarel Roller, Star Spiker,
Rotary brush and the True Level Vibro Roller, thus meaning
a separate purchase of a chassis system is not needed.
The True Level Vibro Roller is able to allow a fixed
brush on to the vibration unit, which means that topdressings
are vibrated into the turf sward.
With a dealer network firmly established throughout
the United States of America and the rest of the World
not far behind, its only a matter of time before you
see TurfWorks on your greens!

IN THE UK |
23 February 2006 |
|
After the successful launch of TurfWorks International™,
in the latter half of 2005 and great interest shown
in the system at the recent BTME exhibition, it looks
like TurfWorks™ have established their niche in
the market sector.
A number of Golf Clubs in the North – West of the
United Kingdom have made the decision to purchase the TurfWorks
system, from their local dealer, Campey Turf Care Systems,
as straight away they could see the benefits, not only in
the design and engineering of the product but in the ways
that it will benefit their course.
The likes of Dunham Forest Golf and County Club, Royal Liverpool
GC, Abbeydale GC, Lancaster GC, De Vere Oulton Hall GC, Harwood
GC, Clitheroe GC and Wilmslow GC, will all be seeing to produce
and better the fine turf that the golfer expects. With smooth
fast and healthy putting surfaces the Thatchmaster will also
be used for grooming the fairways and approaches, with the
Vibro Rollers used to speed up the putting surfaces and approaches.
With the ability to alter the preferred depth of operation,
even on the course, by means of the World Wide Patent Pending
Wrenchless Height Adjustment Mechanism, it means that the
operator does not have to have to remove the units from the
greens triplex mower and no setting bar is required as all
they have to do it is “Turn and Click”.

TurfWorks are Open! |
14 February 2006 |
|
The TurfWorks Thatchmaster and True Level Vibro Roller

Club, at Hoylake, prepare for the British Open, which
takes place in July this year.
The TurfWorks system will enable the Greenstaff to produce
and better the fine turf that the Open expects. With
smooth fast and healthy putting surfaces the Thatchmaster
will also be used for grooming the fairways and approaches,
with the Vibro Rollers used to speed up the putting
surfaces and approaches.

TurfWorks International
gets off to a
Vibrating Roll! |
07 November 2005 |
|
Cookridge Hall Golf Club Ltd., home to a championship
6,788 yards par 72 golf course, have become the first
British golf club to purchase a TurfWorks™ system
from TurfWorks™ International Ltd.
John Watts (Course Manager) decided to purchase the
TurfWorks™ system of True Level Vibro Rollers
(just one of the many cassette options available), after
having a demonstration of them earlier this year by
Simon Gumbrill of Campey Turf Care Systems the local
dealer for TurfWorks.
John was so impressed with the system that he knew
he had to purchase the TurfWorks™ as he could
see what the benefits would be to the greens as well
as the club, as there will be no need for him to purchase
a separate system in the future when he wants to carry
out different operations to keep his greens in perfect
condition. All he needs to do is purchase any of the
different cassettes, which range from the Thatchmaster,
Ultra Grooma, Scarifier, Sarel Roller, Star Spiker,
Rotary Brush, Static Brush, and Fixed Brushes for the
True Level Vibro Roller cassettes, the chassis is able
to accept all these different cassettes.
Commenting on the TurfWorks™ system, John said
“I always try to get the best value for money
for Cookridge Golf Club on anything I buy, the TurfWorks™
system offers me that and more. The build quality of
the TurfWorks system is exceptional, on first viewing
this can be seen, built from a large proportion of Stainless
steel and using very high quality bearings, no compromise
has been made on quality”.
“The fact that the TurfWorks™ chassis can
take a wide range of units from, Thatchmaster, Ultra
Grooma, Sarel Roller and brushes, but the big advantage
point is the vibrating greens iron will fit in the chassis
working on two rollers so twice ironing effect over
single roller systems. The chassis also has a patent
pending adjuster system, so there is no need for a setting
bar or spanners, so if some greens need more or less
fine tuning or adjustment this can be made on the course
by simple turn of a adjuster. The system shows there
is no compromise on quality, so it makes it the ideal
system for Cookridge Golf Club".
The TurfWorks™ modular chassis is available for all
popular greens mowers and lightweight fairway mowers,
with interchangeable cassettes to allow a variety of
operations to be carried out.

… And the competition’s
– still doing a duo! |
29 September 2005 |
|
Launched for the first time in the UK at Saltex was
the new range of interchangeable greens maintenance
cassette systems from TurfWorks International™,
who specialise in providing Turf Managers with mechanical
solutions for the management of fine turf.
Intended for all main stream makes of triplex greens
mowers and light weight fairway mowers, the range of
TurfWorks cassettes are British designed and manufactured
using, Sheffield Stainless Steel. The manufacturing
process utilises integrated laser cutting by means of
ferrous and non-ferrous materials to an accuracy of
0.1mm. A broad range of advanced engineering equipment
including the latest and most advanced CNC milling and
turning machines are used on items such as bearing housings
and drive couplers. The design process has been augmented
through a strong association with Sheffield Hallam University.
The manufacturer is in possession of ISO 9002/1994 registration.
The TurfWorks patented modular chassis will fit all
greens triplex power units, with interchangeable cassettes
to allow a variety of operations, including: - the removal
of thatch from golf greens and tees with the Thatchmaster
Verticutting cassettes. The firming and levelling of
the golf green playing surface, by means of the True
Level Vibro Roller cassettes, this is a high frequency
unit operating on twin rollers (so not creating a corrugating
effect). Deep scarification with the scarifying cassettes,
fine surface “grooming” and poa management
with the Ultra Grooma cassettes, green surface sweeping
with the Spiral Brush cassette, brushing in top –
dressing with the Fixed Drag Brush cassettes, and vibrating
and brushing in the same operation with the “Vibro
Brush” attachment for the Vibro cassette.
An advantage that TurfWorks has is that you can change
cassettes on the machine and you can accept a True Level
Vibro Roller cassette into the same system, this is
exclusive to TurfWorks International™.
The patents and benefits that the TurfWorks cassette
system can offer are;
1. Patent Pending wrench less height adjuster with
visible depth gauge. An industry first that can be adjusted
whilst on the course by a simple "turn & click"
process.
2. Patent Pending Cassette system that enables the
True Level Vibro Roller cassette to be used in addition
to the usual Verti-cut, scarifier, brush etc., thereby
eliminating the need to purchase two separate systems.
Operates at an impressive 83hz frequency through two
rollers removing potential for “bow wave”
effect suffered on single vibratory roller configurations.
Corrugation problems which can actually slow down ball
speed are also eliminated due to the high frequency
of operation of the TurfWorks Patent Pending System.
Go it alone with the only combined vibratory inclusive
cassette system – TurfWorks!
